Parking Meters Switched to Parking Pay Stations

On July 9, 2007, parking pay stations replaced the parking meters along the east side of the Law School. There are two self-serve pay stations: One is located outside the southeast corner of the Law Library Building; the other is across from the Information/Parking kiosk just south of the Wyton Drive entrance to UCLA. The parking pay stations are the same as others located across campus. New parking rates are: $1.00 for 20 minutes up to $6.00 for two hours. Additional increments of time can be purchased for the same day between 4:00am and 11:59pm. There is no longer free parking at any time of the day. The self-serve pay stations accept $1.00 and $5.00 bills, VISA and MasterCard credit cards only. They will not accept change. For additional information please contact (310) 206-PARK (7275) or visit the Campus Parking website.

"Antikamnia Calendar" -- An Interesting Online Exhibit brought to you by the Biomedical Library

From the exhibit:

The Antikamnia ("Opposed to Pain") Chemical Company of St. Louis, Missouri produced several calendars (1897-1901) illustrated with "Skeleton Sketches"...

To see the sketches, go to: http://www.library.ucla.edu/biomed/his/antikamnia/antikamnia.html. I can only assume these were posted for Halloween--so I'm a couple of days late.  I thought they were very cool and just wanted to share them with you.

Law Library Wallets bring romance & happiness!

Well--at least it happened once! Today's Santa Monica Daily Press features a story about two UCLA Law Students, Greg Good and Alicia Hancock, who met on the "Big Blue Bus" and plan to be married next year.  The article states that "Good noticed Hancock's UCLA card carrier dangling from her key-chain. 'I thought, that's my in,' Good recalled."  We know this must be one of our own Law Library wallets!  Good things come to those who display their library wallets (pun intended--sorry Greg)! Read the full story on page 10 of the October 16 issue.

P.S.  Congratulations Greg & Alicia!
