Important Changes in the Library for the 2009/10 School Year

Welcome! Here's an update with some important changes we implemented in the library for this year and some useful information:

  • We have moved the ERes Course pages behind the Law School Intranet, which means you will now need to login with your LawNET or BOL username and password to get access to your course pages.  Please also note that the address has changed to http://eres.law.ucla.edu (although the old link still works).
  • We have changed our beverage policy so that beverages are allowed only in sealable, reusable containers.  Beverages in disposable containers are strictly prohibited. This was done both to meet the demand for allowing usage of reusable containers other than the approved library mugs and to adopt a more environmentally friendly policy.
  • We now have an online library tour available at http://www.law.ucla.edu/librarytour.
  • We have created a Guide for First Year Law Students on LibGuides and even returning students might be interested in the section called:  Food/Fun Guide to UCLA & Westwood.
  • We have a new look for our Tower Reading Room and Law & Popular Culture Video/DVD collection lists.

The Library has purchased a subscription for your use to AudioCaseFiles.com, which provides MP3 audio versions of over 1,000 cases, many of which are in your assigned casebooks. It also provides over 4,000 hours of trial video from over 130 cases.

You can view the videos online, and you can either listen to the audios on your computers or download them to an iPod or other MP3 player. The audio case database includes cases from the casebooks of our own Dean Schill (Property), Professor Yeazell (Civil Procedure), and Professor Grady (Torts), among others.
