Announcing LibGuides, Important Summer Research Information....and a free flashlight!

The Law Library is pleased to introduce our new online research guide system, LibGuides, available at http://libguides.law.ucla.edu. These guides are prepared for use by the Law School community and we hope you will find them useful for your summer jobs. This online format will allow you browse our guides by subject, search by keyword or click on subject “tags” that have been assigned to each guide. For example, you will find step-by-step research guides on federal tax research, employment law research, online legal research beyond LexisNexis and Westlaw, how to research United Nations materials and many others. To launch this newproduct, we will be placing flashlights imprinted with the LibGuides web address in your student mailboxes on Tuesday, April 14. These flashlights can be attached to your key ring or backpack. (Important Note about the flashlights: you need to unscrew the bottom and remove a small plastic circle piece on the bottom battery for the light to work.)

On LibGuides, you will also find a link to other important summer information, including Westlaw and Lexis access, your Loislaw password and library summer hours. We hope you will find LibGuides useful and look forward to your comments on our current guides and suggestions for new guides.
